Dear 🌍 Community:
How can fun and games hope to heal Planet Earth?
What about a family board game for all ages that explores the workings and wonders of the natural world?
That’s what we’re building, based on Silly Lily’s Rhyming Adventures in Nature itself. We’re looking for a little help from the world to make professional-quality prototypes to submit to game manufacturers.
Many educators and scientists feel that gaining a respect for Nature early in life and instilling the desire to love and protect her creations may be the only lasting solution to climate change, deforestation, environmental pollution and many other crises caused by human civilization.
After all, within the next decade or two, our children will be the adult decision makers.
A Game for the Curious
Did you know that baby Giraffes are born six feet tall?
That Moles squeeze the dirt out of worms before they eat them?
That a Bee visits over 100,000 flowers but only makes a few drops of honey in its lifetime?
SILLY LILY’S NATURE ADVENTURE contains 80 fascinating“Wow!” facts about animals and plants that will make you curious about learning more and finding ways to nurture and sustain all living things.
We’ve played our rough mockup, pictured here, with several families to test out the layout, rules, rewards and fun quotient. A test round brought one young player to question the fact on the back of the Dinosaur card, prompting him to pull out his phone to check. For the next 15 minutes, he played the game with one hand and browsed paleontological sites with the other. He confirmed that some Dinosaurs may have lived to be 300 years old, and at the same time he learned many other things, as well. His curiosity and exploration are exactly what we had hoped for.
Yeva Chisholm at Venus Marketing, who created this website for the book, will be designing the gameboard, spinner, characters and cards for submission. Her versions will replace the ones we put together on a kitchen table.
Our total funding goal is just $3,000 to design, print and construct the needed prototypes.
For a gift of $50, you’ll receive a commemorative Silly Lily Thank You card with an original design by Venus Marketing.
For a gift of $300, we will send you the commemorative card, along with a signed copy of the book.
For a gift of $1,000, you will receive the card and the book, plus one of our attractive and durable prototypes within six months of full funding. This unique and totally playable keepsake version will be yours, long before any future manufacturer will be able to produce the final game.
So, we need as few as 3 donors or as many as 60. Might you or someone you know be interested? Thank you in advance for sharing in our vision to heal, educate, and inspire.
